v1.0.1 (Linearization Readiness)

View this release on GitHub → Release Date: September 09, 2026

A small patch release: a new readiness signal for laser linearization, and a validation fix for ramp bandwidth.

Interface contract: carbon-interface v1.5.6 — unchanged from v1.0.0. Firmware compatibility: install FPGA v1.5.6 / MCU v4.1.0 with the v7.1.X bringup script / updater — unchanged from v1.0.0. Not compatible with FPGA v1.3.3 / MCU v2.6.0 or older.

New Features

  • is_linearization_settling (Python & C++): reports whether the sensor’s laser linearization is still converging after a configuration change, so measurement performance is not yet fully stable. Every SDL parameter change restarts linearization — wait for this to read False before trusting measurements, rather than testing health.ll_fom_smoothed yourself.
  • The visualizer shows a settling notice while linearization converges, alongside the live figure of merit and the threshold it needs to reach.

Bug Fixes

  • ramp_bandwidth_ghz (Python & C++ SDL configuration) now validates against the sensor’s actual supported set — 2, 4, 6, 8, or 9 GHz. Requesting any other value is rejected immediately instead of being sent to the sensor.
