Retired Tools

Tools that used to ship in this package and where their functionality went.

The tools below have been removed or are no longer documented for customer use. This page exists so old links and scripts have somewhere to land.

Foxglove tools

Removed in v0.5.0. Live viewing and playback are now handled by the visualizer; for ROS 2 / Foxglove workflows, use the voyant-ros repository.

Meadowlark-only tools

These targeted the Meadowlark dev kit and were removed in v0.15.0. On Carbon, use the visualizer to view and configure the sensor, voyant_client_check to verify a connection, and voyant_simulator for hardware-free testing.

CSV conversion

Now internal-only and no longer documented. To convert recordings for analysis, use the voyant-ros repository (ROS 2 bag) or the Python bindings.

Peaks replay

voyant_carbon_peaks_playback (replaying recorded raw peaks through the DSP) still ships, as voyant_peaks_playback, but is internal-only and no longer documented. To capture raw peaks for Voyant support, record in diagnostic mode.

Renamed in v1.0.0

The carbon qualifier was dropped from the packaged tool names in v1.0.0 — update scripts to the new names:

voyant_carbon_client_check → voyant_client_check
voyant_carbon_simulator → voyant_simulator
voyant_carbon_dump_peaks → voyant_dump_peaks
voyant_carbon_peak_validator → voyant_peak_validator
voyant_carbon_peaks_playback → voyant_peaks_playback
voyant_carbon_sdl_regression_test → voyant_sdl_regression_test

A few options went away with the rename: the client tools no longer take --send-buffer-size, and voyant_peaks_playback no longer takes --max-ramp-count or --fps.
