v0.8.0 (Heartbeat-Sourced Calibration)

View this release on GitHub → Release Date: April 20, 2026

Calibration parameters previously supplied via config are now parsed automatically from the sensor heartbeat — no manual files or flags needed.

Compatible with carbon-interface v1.2.0 — updated heartbeat format.

Breaking Changes

Several CarbonConfig arguments have been removed. Calibration parameters previously supplied via config are now parsed automatically from the sensor heartbeat — no manual files or flags needed.

Removed from CarbonConfig CLI / JSON:

  • peaks_per_frame / --peaks-per-frame
  • force_positive_range / --force-positive-range
  • discard_first_n_peaks / --discard-first-n-peaks
  • real_only_channels / --real-only-channels (IQ mask)
  • vel_corr_file / --vel-corr-file — Doppler correction now sourced from heartbeat
  • refl_scale_file / --refl-scale-file — Reflectance scale now sourced from heartbeat

Added Features

  • Sensor health warnings — the Visualizer now surfaces live sensor health warnings, building on the health panel introduced in v0.7.1
  • Dynamic point size scaling — optional Visualizer feature; rendered point size increases with range when enabled

DSP Changes

  • Doppler calibration — calibration logic updated to use data from the sensor heartbeat
  • Reflectance calibration — calibration logic updated to use data from the sensor heartbeat
  • Spatial filter — default spatial filter configuration updated
