View this release on GitHub → Release Date: April 24, 2026

This release adds click-to-inspect point picking in the Visualizer along with several display and calibration fixes.

Compatible with carbon-interface v1.2.2 — no API compatibility change from v1.2.0 or v1.2.1.

Features

  • Point inspector picking — click to inspect individual points in the Visualizer
  • Range-compensated point size — dynamic point size scaling (introduced in v0.8.0) is now enabled by default
  • Default viz parameter tweaks — defaults tuned for Carbon Alpha demo tour
  • Range ring label text size — text size of range ring labels is now configurable in the Visualizer
  • Windows .exe supportcar-alpha-cal-path now has a Windows .exe option

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed WARN log spam when only the heartbeat is streaming (no point data)
  • Flipped sign on Doppler correction (calibration fix)
  • FOV/FPS settings now warn when values are high and prevent invalid entries (GUI only)
  • Unused SDL command fields hidden; Visualizer now uses heartbeat bandwidth

Testing

  • SDL regression test harness added
  • Python bringup / bandwidth script added

Internal

  • Refactored carbon simulator to support SDL commands
  • carbon-interface bumped to v1.2.2 (no compatibility change)
